Coronavirus Morning, Ambala

Darshan Academy, Ambala organized a special morning assembly regarding the awareness of the coronavirus and its effects and symptoms. A video acquainting them with the virus was also shown to the whole school. They were told about the precautionary measures to be taken for this virus and students made attractive posters depicting the importance of hand washing.

Spiritual Talk, Ambala

Darshan Academy, Ambala organized a spiritual talk for all staff members on the role of a spiritual Master. After a meditation session the speaker, Mrs. Sunita Arora, started the talk by emphasizing the benefits of a spiritual Master in our life. She gave examples of how spiritual Masters promote inner and outer peace through spirituality and meditation. She ended the talk by sharing the real-life experiences of different saints and spiritual Masters by telling different stories and anecdotes of their lives.

Christmas Celebration and Shaheedi Diwas, Ambala

Darshan Academy, Ambala celebrated the festival of Christmas and commemorated the young martyrs in the history of Sikhism, the Sahibzade. The significance of Christmas was explained to the students through the stories associated with Jesus Christ. They sang carols related to Christmas and the tiny tots, dressed up as Santa Clause, distributed sweets. The students were then told about the legends associated with the Sikh martyrs followed by historical shabads sung by the senior students. The celebrations helped students learn about different faiths.

Spiritual Talk, Ambala

Darshan Academy, Ambala organized a spiritual talk on 13-Nov-2019 for students of classes III to VIII. The resource person, Mr. Rajinder Arora, from Darshan Academy, Kaithal, spoke on the topic of Anger Management through Meditation. Mr Arora stressed that students need to understand the causes of anger and if not properly managed, can have adverse effects on our body and mind. He also advised students to meditate to manage their anger. Overall the Spiritual Talk was highly beneficial.

Dental and Eye Check-Up, Ambala

“Good health and good habits are very important factors for children to get benefits from quality education and grow up as empowered individuals.” Keeping in mind the good health of our students, Darshan Academy Ambala organized an “Eye and Dental Checkup” in the school. The checkup was organized under the Silver Jubilee Celebration of Darshan Education Foundation and conducted in collaboration with a team of doctors from Adesh Hospital, Ambala Cantt. The eye checkup was conducted by Dr. Anurag Singh and the dental checkup was conducted by Dr. Ritu. All the students from class Nursery to VIII benefited from the camp which began with a dental awareness talk, educating students about common dental ailments especially tooth decay, gum diseases, and measures for prevention. The students were informed about eating patterns and food choices that cause tooth decay and received ample opportunities to interact with the doctors to inquire and gain knowledge about various eye diseases, prevention, and measures to treat them. The school Head Mrs. Balwinder Kaur thanked the team of doctors from Adesh Hospital for rendering moral and selfless service to the school.

Haryana Day, Ambala

National Integration and Haryana Day was celebrated with traditional fervor and gaiety at Darshan Academy Ambala. The occasion was embellished by organizing a special assembly for the whole school. The Head Boy gave an introductory speech highlighting the importance of this day and the moments of carving of this great state of our country. Dressed in their ethnic best, the students put up an entertaining show through various fold dances of Haryana. The programme commenced by recitation of melodious poems by Darshanities in order to highlight and appreciate the culture and traditions of the state. Later, a quiz on Haryana was also conducted by the students of class VIII. It was a learning experience for the students and a platform to recollect the heritage of Haryana. At the culmination point, the school Head Mrs. Balwinder Kaur greeted the students with her ever inspiring words. The celebration of Haryana Day was really an entertaining as well as enlightening show.

Drawing and Painting Competition, Ambala

Darshan Academy, Ambala organized a drawing and painting competition for students of classes VI to VIII under the Silver Jubilee Celebrations of Darshan Education Foundation. Based on the vegetarian diet, the competition allowed complete self expression and supported the children’s creativity and innovative ideas expressed through art. The children transformed their ideas into beautiful, unique drawings and paintings.

Diwali Celebration, Ambala

The celebration of Diwali, the festival of lights, came alive at Darshan Academy, Ambala, where the whole school was adorned with pots, diyas and candles. During the special morning assembly, the students discussed the significance of the festival; how good always conquers evil and why and how Diwali is celebrated across the country. Teachers explained that Diwali signifies the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, good over evil and hope over despair. The program began with songs by the teachers. The students presented a skit highlighting the tales and legends of Diwali. Another skit, presented by the students of the senior wing, highlighted the theme of a safe and green Diwali. They stressed the point that we should fill our homes with prayers and lights not with fumes and crackers. The principal told the students that in our zest to celebrate Diwali in a grand scale, let us not forget our responsibility towards nature that is the home for all living beings.

Special Assembly on Darshan Agreements, Ambala

Darshan Academy, Ambala organized a special assembly under the Silver Jubilee Celebrations of Darshan Education Foundation on 17 September 2019 for classes I to VIII to familiarize the students with the importance of Darshan Academy’s four agreements. They are part of the school’s positive behaviour program based on treating others with respect and kindness. The students of class VIII gave a wonderful presentation of the school’s four agreements, relating their usage with real life situations at school and home.

Evening Charity Classes, Ambala

Darshan Academy, Ambala started evening educational charity classes for children in finanical need from nearby areas on 20 September 2019, the birth anniversary of Sant Rajinder Singh Ji Maharaj, the birthday of Darshan Education Foundation’s Founder Chairman. On the first day parents were also invited to the school. These classes will be continued for the whole year as a part of the Silver Jubilee Celebration of Darshan Education Foundation.
